One year Support & Encouragement Group – Mental Rehearsal.

Hi everyone, its Shane Instagram:@PT4theMind and Welcome to our Australia Day Saturday 26th January twenty nineteen one-year support & Encouragement Group.  Today we are going to talk about Mental Rehearsal.

What thoughts do you want to fire and wire into your brain? 

Let me teach you the act of mentally rehearsing, this is one of the most powerful creating exercises I know.

Like many other NBA players, Michael Jordan engages in a unique pre-free throw ritual before every free throw. It’s not especially quirky, but is pretty unique. Specifically, he steps up to the line and mimes a few imaginary free throws before taking the actual free throws

By closing your eyes and mentally rehearsing the action of visualising your future, if you are truly present your brain doesn’t know the difference between what you are imaging/experiencing in 3d world.

So what happens is you begin to install new neoglacial hardware in your brain to look like the event has already occurred. Now Your brain will no longer be a record of the past but a map of the future.

If you keep doing this and priming your mind that way the hardware becomes a software program and who knows you might just start acting like a happy person!

I think the hardest part is to teach our body emotionally what the future will feel like ahead of the actual experience. What does that mean? You can’t wait for your success feel empowered, you cant wait for wealth to feel abundant, you can’t wait for your new relationship to feel love, or your healing to feel whole. this is the old model of reality of cause and effect’. 

It’s crazy to wait for something outside of us to change how we feel inside. This is what is called the Newtonian world, which is all about predictability, but quantum model of reality is about ‘causing an effect’.

The moment you start feeling abundant and worthy you are generating wealth, the moment you are empowered and feel it you are beginning to step towards your success, the moment you start feeling whole your healing begins, and when you love yourself and you love all of life you will create an equal, and now you are causing an effect. That’s the difference is living as a victim vs becoming a creator. My thinking and feeling are creating my universe!

If you’re not being defined by a vision of the future, then you are left with the old memories of the past and you will be predictable in your life. If, however you have willpower and are able to free yourself from the familiar past you are living in the present and can create anything you put your thoughts to.

Boost the power of both your affirmations and visualizations by using them together. While visualizing your desired outcome, mentally repeat one or more positive affirmations that relate to your vision.

Below is a sample affirmation/visualization process that can be used for recovery:
Get in a comfortable, relaxed state. On your mental screen, imagine a scene that might be taking place several months into the future, when you have stabilized your abstinence and are substance-free.

Imagine as fully as possible some of the ways that your life has changed. What are you doing that you would not have been able to do while addicted? See and feel the positive changes, imagining them fully with all five senses…really be there in the scene.

While fully immersing yourself in the image of your positive future, repeat a positive self-affirmation to yourself several times. (You might say something like, “Secure in my abstinence, I now enjoy this healthy, affirming lifestyle. Peace, joy and fulfilment are mine.”)
